Time Management Tip #4 - Identify Your Absolutes

4. Develop something called DAILY ABSOLUTES
This is a great time management strategy! This concept helps maintain focus and motivation.  It’s absolute because it is a critical outcome to the success of the business and or your role. So the focus is on what’s absolutely necessary - what REALLY MATTERS.

Determine your daily absolutes and then map out your day.

Time Management Tip #3

ReTweet Me

3. Be in the habit of planning your week
This is a great habit and time management strategy. It’s best to determine a time in which you can do it consistently.  For me it’s Monday first thing, for other’s it’ll be Thursday or Friday the week before.  You’ll get into your own rhythm and time slot.

Do you believe that planning your week can get you better results?  Please know that when I suggest this, it's with the knowledge the most people do not have complete control of their time.

However, planning is like creating a map - you're more likely to get your destination with a map than without.

The easier way to do this is with a "week-at-a-glance", mapping what you want to do when in light of other items on your schedule (ie. conference calls, appts., etc).

Habits - Part 2

Fitness4ward
So ask yourself, "what new habits do I want to create to manage my time and life better?" Be specific and clear in exactly the behavior or thought you want it to be.

We do have habits of thought and habits of behavior and both are important to develop.

Also, recognize that a habit takes at least 21-30 days to create (and I say 45 for grace.) That’s the shortest period only if you are consistent in the attempt.  It will take longer if you are not.

Remember, a true habit is one in which the behavior is done automatically without even having to think about it.

"Habits are the routines that are the building blocks of your life."

Habit – Your Constant Companion

“I am your constant companion; I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.  I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.  I’m completely at your command.

Half the things you do you might just as well turn over to me and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.  I am easily managed.  You must merely be firm with me.

Show me exactly how you want something done and after a few lessons I will do it automatically. I am the servant of all great men and alas of all failures as well. Those who are great, I have made great.  Those of you who are failures, I have made failures.

I am not a machine although I work with all the precision of a machine plus the intelligence of a man.  You may run me for profit or run me for ruin.  It makes no difference to me.  Take me, train me, be firm with me and I’ll put the world at your feet.  Be easy with me and I will destroy you.  Who am I?  I am HABIT!”
